Uzbekistan to join Turkmenistan-India gas pipeline project

Uzbekistan plans to join an $8 billion project to build a natural gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to India, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said on Monday, although it was unclear whether Tashkent might eventually ship gas through it.

Turkmenistan, which sits on the world’s fourth-biggest gas reserves and borders Afghanistan, started this year laying the Afghan section of the pipeline which will also cross Pakistan, seeing it as key to diversifying exports away from China.

Accelerated plan approved to lay TAPI pipeline by 2019

Countries that are part of the UA$10 billion Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project have approved an acceleration plan in a bid to cut the time required for constructing the pipeline and make it ready before the deadline, disclosed an official.

The targeted time for completing the project was 2020, but now under the acceleration plan, the participating countries will be able to lay the transnational pipeline next year.

Romania starts BRUA pipeline project

Romanian state-owned natural gas transporter Transgaz has signed the deal for the three gas compressor stations within the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria gas pipeline (BRUA). The winning consortia which will build the stations was fined in the past for bid rigging with Transgaz, local reported.

The consortium is led by INSPET Ploiesti, which will execute the EUR 62.7 million contract. Seven other companies are part of the winning consortium: Petroconst, Moldocor, Habau PPS Pipeline Systems, IRIGC Impex, Sutech, TIAB and Roconsult Tech.

Kenya’s 865km pipeline project deal to be completed by mid-2018

The new 865-km pipeline will be from the Amosing and Ngamia fields to the port of Lamu on the Indian Ocean.

Tall Oak Midstream III LLC, Oklahoma City, has launched a nonbinding open season to secure prospective shippers for a proposed natural gas residue pipeline in Southeast Oklahoma. The 80-mile Arkoma Residue Capacity (ARC) Pipeline will connect to Tall Oak’s planned Panther Creek Natural Gas Processing Plant in Hughes County, Okla., and a planned receipt point off the Enable Gas Transmission line. Taliban Announces Support for TAPI Gas Pipeline Project in Afghanistan

The armed Taliban group has announced support for the “Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India” (TAPI) gas pipeline project, the group said in a statement.

“TAPI is an important economic project in the region and the Taliban group will cooperate for its implementation in the areas that are under the control of the group,” the statement reads.
