Israel believes that further amounts of gas in the East Med are yet to be found and launched the 2nd offshore bid round last November.

There is political will from Israel, Cyprus, Greece and Italy to proceed with the construction of the EastMed natural gas pipeline, Israel’s Orit Ganor, Director of the Natural Gas International Trade, Ministry of Energy, told New Europe.

Jemena awards Atlas pipeline facility construction contract to Valmec

Natural gas infrastructure operator Jemena has awarded a contract to Valmec for facility construction works at its Atlas gas pipeline project in South West Queensland, Australia.

Valmec will deliver the $22m contract on a turnkey basis. The company will begin the contract works immediately and expects to complete the project later this year.

The new contract builds on the relationship between Valmec and Jemena and comes after the recent completion of the Northern gas pipeline compression facility project in Mt Isa, Queensland. ...

Petrobras to sale interest in TAG pipeline

Brazilian oil company Petrobras’ executive board has decided to resume the bidding process for a 90% interest in its Transportadora Associada de Gas (TAG) pipeline unit.

The sale will also include the company’s Araucaria fertiliser factory.

Petrobras will also continue to look for potential refining partnerships.

The company had been looking to divest its interest in the pipeline operator TAG. However, the sale process was suspended following an injunction issued by a Brazilian court.

The launch of the EMFG forum could boost the exploration, development and export of hydrocarbons from the East Mediterranean to Europe, increasing the EU’s energy security.

Eastern Mediterranean countries have agreed to create a regional gas market in an effort to transform their part of the Mediterranean into a major energy hub.

Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinian Territories founded on January 14 a forum to ensure supply and demand, cut infrastructure costs and offer competitive prices.

India to invest $9.91bn to expand gas pipeline network
