Enbridge completes sale of US midstream businesses

In May, the company announced a definitive agreement was in place to sell Midcoast Operating and its subsidiaries to AL Midcoast Holdings, an affiliate of ArcLight Capital Partners, for a cash purchase price of CA$1.4 billion (US$1.08 billion).

A joint venture outlines plans for new 1,000 km pipeline on the Permian Basin

A joint venture (JV) has signed a Letter of Intent for the development of a new pipeline to transport gas from the Permian Basin to growing markets along the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Summit Midstream starts open season for new pipeline

Summit Permian Transmission, a subsidiary of Summit Midstream Partners, has opened a binding open season for transportation capacity on its proposed Double E Pipeline.

The project will connect the Northern Delaware Basin with Waha, Texas, transporting gas from various receipt points.

The open season started on 6 August and will conclude on 14 September.

Double E will service Eddy and Lea Counties, New Mexico and Loving, Ward, Reeves and Pecos Counties in Texas.

Tanzania wants to build pipeline to pump gas to Uganda

Tanzania wants to build a pipeline to pump natural gas to neighbouring Uganda, another step in the two countries’ bid to expand energy cooperation.

State-run Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) said on Monday that the pipeline would start from its capital Dar es Salaam, then pass through Tanga port on the Indian Ocean and to Mwanza, a port on Lake Victoria before crossing the border to Uganda.

France to allow private investors to buy into GRTgaz gas grid

France will allow gas utility Engie to sell part of the main French gas grid, GRTgaz, to private investors, according to a planned parliamentary bill, as the government eyes a series of possible privatizations to boost the economy.

The gas grid, which manages most French gas pipelines and storage sites, is currently 75% owned by Engie, with the remaining 25% owned by state investor Caisse des Depots and insurer CNP.
