Petrobras starts production from Lula Northeast field

June 10, 2013 Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) reported the start of oil and gas production from the 7-LL-11-RJS well in Lula Northeast field offshore Brazil. The well, which was drilled on Block BM-S-11, is connected to the Cidade de Paraty floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, which has the capacity to process as much as 120,000 bo/d and 5 million cu m/day of gas. Sudan ‘orders halt to oil transfers’ from South Sudan

June 08, 2013 Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir has ordered the stoppage of oil transfers through its territory from South Sudan from Sunday, state media report. Oil only started flowing again in April after the two sides struck a deal. President Bashir said in May that Sudan would stop the flow of oil if South Sudan continued to support rebels operating on Sudanese soil. Kinder Morgan cancels Freedom crude oil pipeline

June 06, 2013 Kinder Morgan Energy Partners announced May 31 it canceled plans for a crude oil pipeline project designed to run from Texas to California. According to The Associated Press, Kinder Morgan canceled the Freedom pipeline project, consisting of a mix of converted natural gas pipelines and new construction, because there weren’t enough refineries interested in the project.
