BP Announces Gas Start Up in Algeria

BP on Tuesday announced the start-up of Southern Fields natural gas project in Algeria. The project is the latest stage in the development of seven gas fields in central Algeria. The In Salah Gas joint venture commenced production in 2004 from three fields in the north of the area: Krechba, Teguentour and Reg. The Southern Fields project involves the development of four dry gas fields: Gour Mahmoud, In Salah, Garet el Befinat and Hassi Moumene.

CLP Group Signs Gas Purchase Deal with CNOOC

CLP Group, the Hong Kong-based power utility has signed a gas purchase deal with CNOOC. CNOOC will supply the gas from the Wenchang gas field in the South China Sea using the existing Yacheng pipeline. Gas flow is expected to commence in 2018.
